Westy pop top fitting questions

Post by samk »

Hi All,

need to get my westy pop top fitted within the next three weeks because i'll then be away for wrk for 5 months! want to take the van with me and I wont have the time to do any work while i'm in devon. Please help with the following questions if you can. it always seem like i've got my head round everything for yet another problem to arise!

1. would it be possible to fit rear roof hinges with a interior roof level cupboard still in place?
2. is it possible to remove the front headlining fairly easily to drill etc for fitting the front luggage rack?

erm, i'm sure there's more but that's it for now! Any other pointers or tips from people who have done this before would be great

thanks,

Sam

if you want to do a tidy job you`ll need to strip it down. you could cut corners and botch around things but why?

It is quite straightforward to remove the front headlining. I've done it by myself, but a second pair of hands would make refitting a bit easier. Make sure you have somewhere safe to keep the dozens of screws.

Fortunately I've never needed to touch the roof hinges so can't help you there.
