Petrol tank
Am I right in thinking the petrol tank on a T25 holds 60 litres of fuel? If so, could anyone tell me how much fuel there is in relation to the increments shown on the fuel gauge? Hope that makes sense!

Re: Petrol tank
I think its 50 Litres I could be wrong though. The fuel gauges are notoriously unreliable. Mine is nearly empty just below half way. All tree of the ones I have owned though, from full to half way is at least 3/4 of a tank. The only way to know is to carry some spare fuel and run it dry. You may pull crud through to the carb/injectors so have a spare fuel filter ready to go on as well.

Re: Petrol tank
I think it's a 60ltr tank. I've got 54ltr in on more than one occasion with the needle in the red. The graduations are pretty random mine can go from half a tank, to in the red in 30 miles and then back up again? I know on a run I can get 200 miles between fills, but I try to find fuel around the 160 mile mark.

Re: Petrol tank
60 litre tank, top half on the guage is 2/3rds of the mileage ... i.e. the bottom half on the guage goes twice as fast as the top half. Even when 'empty' and run out there's around a gallon left hiding in the corners.

Re: Petrol tank
I was just reading my original manual about fuel this very day!
Tank is indeed "about" 60l (13 gallons) which includes "about" 10lt (2 gallon) reserve which should start when you meet the start of the reserve mark.
Not so with my gauge though, same as above - it reverts to completely beyond zero about 50 miles after putting 40l in, and can jump from 1/2 full to zero in the blink of an eye. Its low on the list of fixes though so all refueling will be done on mpg vs journey

Re: Petrol tank
same problem with mine but I think it helps me keep him topped up so if /when I breakdown I can take no fuel out of the equation

Re: Petrol tank
your gauge is pretty sensitive to the slant of the vehicle too. Shows more fuel going down hill than it does going up hill. It's not immediately obvious 'cos the needle's so slow to move.

Pity they stopped fitting a fuel reserve tap as fitted on my old Wolseley 6/110 and Triumph Vitesse and Rover 2000.
