Hi Pierce, really interested in the outcome here. I have just bought a T25 that arrives next week. Same window on mine and another 2 windows have similar amounts of rust, if not more. However, mine has the glass already removed. There is some info. on wiki about repairing/welding around the windows. Looks realitively easy to do if there isn't a lot to deal with and providing you can weld, of which I cannot. Anyways I will take a long hard look at mine and decide what to do next week and post some pics etc. Ensure you keep posting about this one and good luck!! Jon.
1982 Diesel hightop. 1Y engine. Still work in progress but running and taking us on holidays.
Mine looked similar, and actually wasn't that bad underneath, no holes, mostly surface. Removing the windows wan't too back, just peel the seal back on the inside andslow put pressure on the window, starting in the corner.
There was no bare metal on the windows of a westy, so they usually hold up well.

Thanks for the removal tip, was wondering the best way , I am going to give it a go this weekend, if the weathers ok; take it out clean everything up then rustoleum it, then put it back again.
I took the window out today,
With two people peeling the rubber back in the corner, it came out fairly easily and using a length of 6mm cable it went back even easier
Unfortunately a bit of wire brushing reveiled this;
I dfont know. maybe grandads from grandkids
Its so easy, not really taught much today and that coupled with the cost of bottle rental etc.anyhows I find it theraputic
It could be migged but it would be messy and need lots of grinding, not knocking migs as I love em but often its horses for courses and that little job would take 10 minutes to weld up once the plate has been let in to butt weld it,
sorry it dont really help you much though
