Thanks Aiden !

Post by caveman »

I bought a center section of a syncro gearbox with LSD and locker from Aiden last year for my 2wd transporter. I finally got around to hooking up the vacuum lines, switch panel etc. Finally got to try it out today where there is still a big pile of snow and ice blocking my garage door. First try i got halfway before getting stuck. Switched on the locker and just went up the slope like it was almost dry. Frigging awesome.

I just had to post again about this. I did an outside job and so had to bring my 3 ton jack, jack stands tools etc, which in retrospect gave me that extra traction. Have to go back on Monday to finish and when it came time to leave, i found myself stuck on the iced up driveway with the slope. At first shot, i slid sideways instead of out , almost hitting my customer's mini van. Pulled the diff lock, went sideways for a couple of inches and then both wheels gripped and i got out without any more drama. If i didn't have the locker i, i'm sure we would have had an insurance claim on our hands.

It certainly sounds like a worthwhile upgrade if your likely to get in those situations (which you are Caveman!). In my fishing days i would have benefited a lot from having it....

Good stuff anyhow...

I'd love nothing better than to have a 16" er, but just not worth it for 95% of the driving i do. They do a pretty good job of cleaning the roads here.
