Quick question to anyone who may know.
I have bought a diesel T25 without an engine. Somebody has offered me £100 for the bell housing does this sound like a good deal?
I am at the very start of the project and in no rush to fit an engine. (A good year or 2 is the initial aim)
Heard about plug and play engines, is the bell housing included in this?
Any help appreciated please.
Thanks,
Jon.

Engine and bell housing question please?

Re: Engine and bell housing question please?
£100 is a good price, but when you fit your next diesel engine you will need to buy one!
plug and play? very rare you get such a thing unless you take it out yourself!
any way that would mean engine and box if the bell housing is included
keep your bellhousing.may seem like a good deal, but will just create more problems later.
BUT - whats the code on the box? if its a non turbo box(check the code , not the original engine) the n/a box will be useless to use except for some parts due to its ultra low gearing, so if you do decide to fit a bigger engine you will need to replace the box. BUT if you have the bellhousing/input shaft already you can buy any petrol/diesel box and use your bits

I don't actually have the van yet. The seller had an AAZ engine in it (not sure if it ever ran with it in) I bought the van without the engine as I didn't want one yet incase it seizes whilst stood still for a while.
I pick the van up next week. In the meantime the seller has sold the AAZ engine and and the buyer of this engine wants the bell housing too.
I am not sure what engine I would like in it eventually. Obviously I would like the best I can afford at the time.
Do you still think I should keep the bell housing? I am not bothered if I need to buy another for £100 further down the line. I am planning getting the van welded and painted before I plan in the engine.

Re: Engine and bell housing question please?
cost more than a ton I would think, nobody makes them any more... and they are not easy to find for t25
if it's your housing keep it, then when you fit the new AAZ the cost will be a lot less.
