Post by joebrown »

Swivelled the caliper upwards, popped in new pads, caliper won't fit back over them, just how do I push back the piston as according to the haynes manual,it's pop new pads in position then lever back piston back.
I'm stumped how to force it back, please help, thanks in advance for advice.

A proper brake piston push back tool ideally:

but a wood workers G clamp if not.

Watch your brake fluid does not overflow under the instrument binnacle (brake fluid strips paint)

it can help sometimes if you crack the bleed nipple. also stops the fluid from chasing back up the system. g clamp / large plumbers pliers / leave one pad out and use prybar.
