seat locking mech and accelrator help needed

Post by davidharvey »

Only 2 more problems to fix and we are ready to hit the road.

Firstly, neither seat locks in place. I think they are standard seats which have been recovered in leather, but there is no locking mechanism, so seats just slide back and forward in the runners.
What do I need to fix this?

Secondly, the accelerator linkage keeps falling apart.

The bottom of part 3 in the pic keeps falling out of part 1. I thought there was a clip missing, and so have some other people I have spoken to, but it would seem it just goes in there and the shape should hold it in.
So either part 1 or 3 is worn, but part 1 seems unavailable and anyone who has part 3 says "not CU"....which of course mine is. Any help/suggestions/CU type accelerator parts for sale welcomed.
Thanks in advance

On mine part 3 just presses down on part 1.

As for the seats it may be best to take one out and post a picture of the underneath then we can see what is missing.

Original seats are held in place with a long bar that clicks into the slots in the seat runner

Thats the part, I found them under the seats, the passenger one is now refitted and fine, the drivers one is twisted beyond repair, so I need to get one from somewhere

As Cruz says, does part 3 come out of part 1 when still attached to part 2..... if it does then the prob will be with the location of 3 into 1, 3 has the tangs as in your picky and providing these are simmilar to the picky then what shape is the hole in 1, if its worn then remove and get welded and redrilled (seen the stupid price of it), same with 3, if theyre well worn then replace if theyre back in stock else Id just weld a bit back on.
Mike ( just re-read this, youd be buggered without your numbered diagram)

hhhhmmm, am buggered, lol.

Think there is wear somewhere, am thinking of just welding an extension on with a hole and split-pin
