brown/yellow wire

Post by very_bland »

Mornin all!

2.0l AC
Just arisen from beneath the van (no I didn't sleep there ) And found a cut wire... it is a brown and yellow cable at the front of the van. I presume it is an earth as it just connects to a screw in the metalwork of the vans underbelly (on the right hand side of the spare wheel) from there it goes up through the cab floor at the base of the accelerator pedal, and up into the dash behind the instrument panel.

Looking at the wiring diagram, and to be honest I may as well be looking at a map of secret tunnels into Mordor for all the good it is doing me.

Anyone know exactly what it is (instrument panel earth wire, at a guess), and how much of a prioriy I should treat it as something to get done (bearing in mind I keep finding more and more jobs that need doing before the now very overdue MOT)

Thanks again good peeps of club 80-90.

Billy

If it's an earth and it's been cut there's a good chance it was a bit 'iffy' and someone's ran a new one from somewhere else. As long as everything's working fine I'd just forget it.............

Cheers 1664, the only thing on the instrument panel that is not working is the fuel gauge.... and I've more than a hunch that thats has got absolutely nothing to do with this! So I shall forget it for now as you say!

Billy
