Clutch master cylinder

Does anybody know which way , clockwise or anticlockwise, I need to turn the push rod in the clutch master cylinder to give me some play on my clutch pedal? Thanks!

Turn it as though you are screwing it into the pedal end.

it's a normal right hand thread seen from the cylinder end, but you figured that out when you cracked the lock nut
