if i remember right, if you buy a bluebird or similar r&r, you need to build a raised section over engine bay

You can adapt the Westy seat to sit higher when the bed is operated. A few people have asked Jake about this and we were only talking this morning about doing a how to video on it on http://www.campervanculture.com It would be ideal for a Velle or Multivan for extra storage too.
So many things to do and not enough time to do them all at the moment, but with the nights starting to get lighter soon you will be bombarded with stuff

I fitted a blue bird one to my van and had to build up the back to make the bed level, irrc i used 4 inch timber with 12mm ply on top of that

I'd rather keep the westy seat box. Jed i lifted the deck height would there be enough head room for a Ginger oaf to sleep comfortably. .

Re: westy bed height??
I would kindly ask you to do this feature Jed.
I'm wondering if the extra space it would make me would be best for tool storage (as in the latest feature).
