Terminology help "Liner Seals"

Post by popes nose »

I'm about to send the WBX engine off to have the 'head gaskets' replaced. The chap is also going to replace the "Liner seals". I have just tried to order these and the guys at GSF are scratching their heads. "Never heard of them mate" was the reply "Try to find out what he means". So here I am; He won't start the work without having these seals and I can't order them without knowing what they are. My brother reckons that there are four rubber 'rings' at the bottom of the engine and that it could be these but the mechanic mentioned top and bottom.

Many thanks,
Rich.

these are VW part numbers, obsolete from VW, but available from other sources like classic and heritage
