Was up at General Wades Road last year and all the other Drovers trails that are near or link up in that area and guess what????????

They are all closed of with new barriers and gates to deny access by the NEW American Corporate Land Owners in spite of the tourist board putting up new signs telling you of your right of use and there destination difficulty of route etc.

They put red flags up with a sign saying shooting in progress and no access due to health and safety to keep people out.

I do not know what the true facts are as I've heard so much crap talked about it and have been meaning to try and find out the true position of the use of General Wades road but what I can tell you as fact is............... When we waded across the Spay River to get round there barrier and on to General Wades road we found a second barrier just up the road and when we were sizing the possibility of getting round it SIX big blokes turned up in a A/T Bobcat dressed in camouflaged gear and hunting rifles and made it clear we were not welcome and wanted to know how we had got there.

We didn't argue the point and pissed of only to have them follow and much to our amusement watch us wade over the river and up the opposite bank.
They followed us over by using there gate and came over the bridge and started to enquire about my Doka. So I politely asked if they would give us access up the road
to which they said no. So I just said I had no desire to enter into conversation with them and drove off.
They did not once state the position of using or discuss access with us only we had no right to be there. They made no mention of health and safety issues just " we have no right to be there "

So I don't know what the position is but I would clearly like to find out...........
