Propex heater problem

Post by joebee »

Hi
My propex heater has a problem starting up. Not sure which model it is but presume it was fitted as standard to my 1987 Autosleeper. It rarely starts on the leisure battery but starts ok when the engine is running. Today I removed the leisure battery to charge it up in the garage but my charger indicates it to be fully charged. It is a sealed unit rated 59ah and I think it may be a starting battery as it mentions 'starting' as on its side but no reference to leisure. It has a viewing glass on the top which shows a red dot surrounded by green, don't know what this means. Don't use the leisure battery for much (fridge on the move and LED lighting). Would changing this for a heavy duty leisure specific unit cure the problem or could the propex unit be faulty?

If your propex is the HS2000, the red led will flash 3 times if the battery is too low. Not sure if this is the same for all Propex though.

Thanx Dan
the model I have is the stoneage version without diagnostics. Have been advised by Propex that it's probably an "old old " X1. Tried a different battery seems ok.
