Repairing chassis outrigger

Post by fidget »

Hi all

Im starting on my driver side sill next weekend, scraping of the underseal has revealed that the front outrigger has a few holes in it too wheel arch side.

My question is can this be patched like any other part or does it need replacing completely as its part of the vans chassis . Finding a replacement new or old isnt likely . Its only minor holes and all the strength is still there as I jacked and support on the outrigger without any problems.

Any help gratefully appreciated

James

Im sure we both wrote something different?
picky?
Any how if its more than a small hole I would be inclined to cut a good sized plate from say 16g steel and cover a fair part of the outrigger, be neater and last .
