about to wire up my electrical power steering pump , its got a nice thick feed going to it , before i get my head under the dash , can anyone point me to a good place to take a big 12v from ?
is there any junction boxes anywhere ?

I'd take it straight from the battery, fused as near to the battery as possible, with a relay switched from the ignition switch.

thats what i thought .. its a long old way from the back to the front
pump has a relay with it , so thats all good

As you are going to be using a much longer length of cable from the battery now you may want to consider beefing up that cable to avoid voltage drop - I understand that the Fix It Again Tomorrow electric steering motors suffer if their batteries are under par and the alternators cannot cope. I would seriously consider that before you go ahead.

well its from a saxo , from what i have heard they are pretty good .. time will tell.

You are missing the point - there is nothing wrong with the motor - it's the fact that you are in danger of introducing a voltage drop leading to the same scenario.

is yours a diesel?
i have run mine from the fuse box. 3 years never ad a problem with volage drop
the pump is never working at full power anyays. (corsa eps)
a turbo diesel has a seperate feed for the cooling fan from the battery
