i think it had a 1.6 diesel..someone has put in a 1.9 diese

Hi got a t3 origonaly i think it had a 1.6 diesel..someone has put in a 1.9 diesel..there is no cover on the timing belt also the airfilter box top is not on..im wondering if these covers would not fit when they put in the engine...or am i wrong?
also is it not good that these covers are not on?

I have heard that the timing belt can get stones caught in it if there is no cover.

Yup...cover is there to stop crap tearing up the belt! it definately needs one.
