Cab door seal fitting

Hi

Sorry if this sounds like quite a basic question but i have leaky window seals on my cab doors, so I am thinking about replacing the whole lot. My question is does anyone know if the new ones just sit on top of each other and overlap, or should i use some kind of sealant to stick them together. The problem at the moment seems to be the lap joints.
