Fitting a thermostat on a T25

Please can anyone tell me how to fit a new thermostat on my T25 (1988). I bought a new one from 'just campers' and followed their picture only to find that in the Haynes book it shows the thermostat the other way up so I may have put it in upside down. If you have a picture that would be fantastic. I haven't had our T25 (Ruby) for long and this is a steep learning curve. Thamks Tina
