Just moved from mechanical dunce
Evening all!
I'm fitting Solex 32-34 PDSIT's to my 2.0l A.C.
I'm having trouble fitting the wiring in true haynes style (refitting is the reverse of removal) as I did not remove. So a few questions need answers if ye don't mind:
- I know that I can connect the wire from the idle control to the cut off (as I am missing the idle contol unit)... but what gauge wire should I use?
- The wires that plug onto the chokes... where does the other end go? And again, what gauge wire?
All for now! Help would be massively appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
Billy

Re: AC carb wiring
You should have three connections to the lefthand carb taken from terminal 15 of the coil. Choke, idling cut off valve and the idling enrichment valve then down to the anti run on valve, wired in parallel like a Daisey chain using 0.5mm cable. Two to the right hand carb, choke and idling cut off valve

Re: AC carb wiring
Thanks a lot bigherb, a few further questions, if you don't mind;
Firstly what about the bypass cut-off valve on the left carb? Secondly, what is the "anti run on valve"?
(On writing that up I guess it's possible that the "anti run on valve" is the bypass cut-off valve)
Lastly, on the right hand carb, does the wire connecting the choke and idling cut off valve also connect to terminal 15 on the coil?
Thanks again!

Re: AC carb wiring
Yes it is also called an anti Dieseling valve as well and yes the righthand carb also gets it power from terminal 15very_bland wrote:(On writing that up I guess it's possible that the "anti run on valve" is the bypass cut-off valve)
