Fuel filter for WBX 2.1

Post by alofbrighton »

Hi Everyone,

I'm in need of a new fuel filter and on the brickyard site a coopers Z29 (or equivelent) is recommended.
I've managed to source one hopefully on ebay see here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/6-8mm-Z29-INLINE- ... 5632823821 but am confused as it states 6 or 8mm. Do I need one or the other or is this just one type? Or if anyone knows where I can get the correct filter online even better!

Cheers, Al.

If you looked on Brick-yard why didn't you think to look at Brickwerks?

The small clear inline filter is wrong as others have said....it says 6/8mm because the inlet/outlets are stepped to except various sizes of fuel line.
Yours is the larger high volume, aluminium type as illustrated, be careful to fit it the correct way around. The fuel line will contain some residual pressure, so watch your eyes.

Thanks for advice and warning Martin, eye shields at the ready. I'm a novice mechanic but have help at hand and luckily the luxury of a
ramp to work under. Recently swapped out leaking power steering pipes to good effect and I'm well proud! Didn't really expect to get into
this kind of thing when I bought the van but it kind of grips you......Cheers again for help, Al.
