Brilliant news Karl40
Funny enough iv just been looking on Brickwerks for the Ignition amplifier
i had changed the fuel pump push rod yesterday and today noticed that the oil tower hadnt been bolted down properly whilst i was checking out the fuel enrichment valve to make sure the diaphram wasnt knackered (it never ends lol), - so sorted that and was looking for air leaks etc as you do, when i reconnected the ignition module and tried her and she was better but then later on problem came back!
im on the hunt to ... anyway glad it all worked out

Hi Novice in need
Sorry for butting in but i have had pretty much the same issues and am currently suspecting the idle cut off valve!
See post https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=80776
Would be interested in hearing if the ignition amplifier solves your issue...
