new rear bumper

Post by djhammy »

A nice young lady drove into my rear bumper tonight in her dads car.

it's quite dented so if there's no other damage to the van (I'll check in daylight) I'll just ask for the cost of a new one and a bit for spraying etc) Obviously if further damage it's an insurance job. Just wondered if you could recommend who does the best quality replacements. Have seen them on JK and Alan Schofields. Take it others must do them.

Cheers

Dave

I got one from custom and commercial. it seem that with repro bumpers the holes can be slightly out of line. I had to elongate one hole by about 10mm but you can't notice once the cap goes on the bolt head.

Other than that it was good quality.

I think the alignment issues are to do with the bolt holes being drilled before the bumper is shaped which then makes the distance between the holes shorter.
