When i sprayed the fibreglass part of the roof , I sanded it with p320 on a da sander then used a 2k plastic primer from standox (stinks of fish for some reason). then 2k primed it .
I do have the rubber toggle straps, they were already on it when i bought her. They work just fine and have not noticed any wind noise.

Hope that helps feel free to ask any other questions.

Leigh

Cheers Leigh,

I'll be using ICI product as that's what I know. I know too about that 'fish' smell, ICI's is the same. Must be a common compound or something, but yes, it sure does stink

I've been looking on various T25 sites and have found what look to be good toggle strap, so I'll order up a set. Anything to remove that wind noise!

BTW, what's the name of your shop? A mate of mine co-owns a site in Bristol. [He also sells IT management systems to bodyshops] I went there some years back, but can't remember it's name for the life of me. All I do remember was that the bodyshop foreman had a very nice, red,Sunbeam Tiger in there that he'd recently restored, made my mouth water when it was fired up too

Doug

Just kampers and sites like that do the same toggles as mine.

My body shop is Autologic import centre (used to be called Walon) in portbury dock in Bristol. Its a pretty impressive body shop with 4 Jun Air booths and ovens and 2 Dolby spray bakes. We work on used and new cars, The new ones are yard and shipment damage.

No, definately not my mates then!
He did/does insurance work and private work. I've been inside the Vauxhall import place in Essex that runs alongside the Thames, as that was the only place that we could get LFCDA [London Fire Brigade] vehicles re-decalled after accident repairs in my shop. I saw some badly damaged cars there, where they had rolled about inside the ship during transportation. I trust they were put on as demonstrators at dealerships afterwards too..

I like those Junair booths; looked at them myself, but plumped for a Selspray and a Spraybake. The latter was a bad buy, constantly went wrong and could never seem to give a clean job as it could not retain the correct negative /positive pressure inside, the stupid thing The former was a Rolls-Royce by comparison, we began to use it for all the good cars and the other as a primer booth

I saw the toggles on JC too, so I'll order a set tomorrow.

Thanks for the help, etc.

Doug.
