Traction's just "drive". Traction Avant/Traction Arriere is front-drive, rear-drive. Or, for the Syncro boys, Quatre roues motrice.
Another useful one - direction a droite, direction a gauche - RHD/LHD.
See something you like parked up with AV in the windscreen? A Vendre - for sale. But AV is also a widespread contraction of avant - front, and AR for rear. Add in G/D, and you often see ARG (ARierre Gauche), AVD (Avant Droite) written down.
So...

TBE = Tres Bon Etat = VGC
You'll also see "Prix a debattre" = Price to debate = Offers
Umm, what else are you going to see in used car ads? CGC = Carte Grise Collection = "Historic vehicle" logbook - with restrictions on where/how a French owner could use it. CT = Controle Technique = MOT.
And, my favourite - "Dans son jus". Basically means "It is what it is, freshly dragged out of a shed"

A van meet in france would be great. Unfortunately we are not going to make it as far down as ya'll Orleans is the farthest south we're venturing this time. Still a wine region so all's well on that front.
Going home via Honfleur so cider is on the cards also she'll be riding low on the rear suspension thats for sure.

We're doing Similar...heading for Tours and Saumur (campsites not yet chosen) then up to Honfleur on the way back....a night at the port I reckon. First foreign outing...I have to admit to being a bit nervy driving the van all that way.
