Stubborn rear wheel hub (16")

Post by Yozza »

Ay up,
I'm currently stripping down the rear sus. and drive but the offside wheel hub won't budge off the axle shaft (the near side slid off with ease). I've tried applying heat, leverage, big fo hammer, puller and copious amounts of wd40 and it aint moved.
I suspect moisture has got in there and it's rusted/ceased solid.
The problem is you can take off the whole assembly to mount in a press as the wheel hub and rear splash plate need to be removed before you can access the bolts for removing the whole assy
Has anyone else had similar and if so have you got any pointers

Yup happened to me on my last Syncro. I had to strip off all the brake stuff, undo the 4 bolts, remove the bearing housing and take it to a press where it will simply pop off!
