Name those Carbs......Please:-)

Post by mrtanz »

Hi All,
Just wondered if i could use your collective knowledge to name the carbs please, i think they are Dellorto's????
But how do you tell what sort etc?? I know they do 36 40's...... and i may be misinformed completely. Also what are they worth second hand??

Many thank's for any info, Mark

I saw Delorto 38's at £250 in a clean state with the accelerator bar and everything, when at Camperjam.

Hi Mark,

if they are Dellorto's the carbs will have a number stamped on the casing here Image This picture is of a set of side drafts as used on golf's etc whereas the ones you are looking at will be down drafts. Not sure if the stamping is in the same place but would assume so.

Re value, bare carbs seem to go for £100-200 depending on condition and as Kev says a bit more than that with linkages etc.

There alwasy seems to be a few up for sale on Vzi so I would watch there to get a good idea of value,

Cheers,

Hi Mark,
I answered your earlier pm before I saw this post.
They are dellorto drla's.
Probably 36 or 40 mm.
Whoever fitted them hasn't been bothered to strip out the choke mechanism. I'm not familiar with that linkage but it doesnt look right to me, I'd check that the butterflys are opening evenly and fully when the throttle lever is down.
I bet that you could set these up properly far cheaper than buying new carbs.
