Advice please -Only one headlight working

Post by morzov »

Driver's side headlight has stopped working although the sidelight still works. Both headlight and sidelight work on passenger side. Have changed headlight bulb but that doesn't work and there appears to be no current coming through to the bulb holder.

I've read up about problems with the earth crown and switches but before going any further just wondered if problems in those areas would result in only one headlight failing? Or is it more likely to be a break in the wire?

Thanks in advance

Mine does a similar thing at the minute, with mine its a faulty switch or dirty contacts; if I flick the switch on and off a few times, it goes through combinations of one headlight, both headlights, no rear lights, one rear light etc, until they are eventually all on.

Cheers for the replies

Seemed to have solved it. Not exactly sure how but I cleaned some of the earth crown, sprayed WD 40 in there and alo in the bulb connector and hey presto it worked!
