South African 4 headlamp mod

Post by New Kentish Campers »

I quite fancy fitting the above grille and lamp set to my van once I've completed the bodywork & paint [Its got two useless little spot-lamps on the front bumper]

Has anyone else fitted this conversion and did it give a good enough increase in lighting? 200 odd quid is fair bit of cash to lob out if it only looks good but precious little else

Many thanks.

If you do the headlamp relay mod 1st you will see what your lamps are really like. Then coupled with a SA grille and inner spots it must be an improvement.

I really fancy one, looks wise, but I'm too tight to part with the cash, so relayed lights and 2 big spots on my bullbar for me at the moment

What a long strange trip it's been

I converted (fitted) mine, I did the relays at the same time.
The difference is huge, really noticable.

You could also buy 'Osram Nightbreakers'. They're about a tenner from ebay.
They are legal and don't use any more power.
My headlamps are now better than my modern(ish) car.

Hi, are the inner spots still available? My van has only got a four light grill because the garage I bought it off drove over the original on the day I collected it. At the mo' the inner spots aren't connected up and are held in place with mastic!

Think I'll go with it then, I must admit to liking the visual appeal of them and if I can actually see a bit more, all the better [I live in a rural area with no street lamps and its bad enough in a 'normal' car!] I'll try that relay mod too.

Thanks everyone
