Not sure if they are designed to be placed under the van - the metal work is a bit flimsey. Mines under the R&R bed. I think Bluebird custom were looking at developing an underslung propex a while ago.

If you did want to put it there I would be talking to propex and asking lot's of questions about exterior insulation

It would die of rust within 3 years. Why do you want to?

They're designed to fit in a cupboard. The burner air intake and exhaust pipes go through the floor to outside. You could as suggested, get in touch with Propex; apparently they are very helpful but I suspect they'll advise against it and any warranty would probably be void. They're only a bit bigger than a shoe box - there must be room to stash one somewhere surely?

I have a propex fitted under the van. it was there when i got the van. has never worked and all the piping has rotted away but it does look like it was fitted professionally. Was thinking of getting it off and serviced and refitted in the same position. I have an 84 Westy and looks like it may have need fitted from new.

I agree fitting a gas appliance is not to be taken lightly.
I would always advocate a registered fitter.
Like I said earlier if you talk to the propex (now heatsource I think) guys on the blower they can advise you on fitting

Oh and there was a gas heater under the van it was carva or a truma type.

Why didn't you get a Webasto - you can usually pick them up for half to two thirds of what people pay for those Eberspachers.

was not sure they fit a gas heater on the underside of a van just one or two ppl have said they rust on the underside real bad and fast

so nexts weekend i will be fitting Eberspachers heat
coz it same like there is more parts for them and if anything dose go wrong i hope to sort it my self

but i can not say anything bad about webasto heater just coz i hav never had one and not many ppl hav told me to buy one part from yourself so i just went for the type everyone same to use and that come down to the Eberspachers and propex hearter

now i hope i did the right thing. i better had for that sort of coin
