We are going to replace our windscreen seal soon as we have the old favourite T25 footwell puddle on both sides and the carpet will have to come out too for cleaning and drying The footwell insulation will have to go as well . It appears to be some sort of popped foam/cork type material and is has been damaged in places by water and previous owners have pulled it up to re-route cables etc.
Just wondering if any of you Westy owners have replaced the footwell insulation and if so what did you use in it's place Would a suitable home style insulation material do or is there something better
Also many thanks to 80-90 members for all the info to be had re windscreen's and their leaks most helpful

We were thinking much the same (like they use for DIY van window insulation) should be ok but haven't searched for an alternative as yet.....

Re: Westy Footwell Insulation
I don't own a westy, but after rustproofing and chassis paint, I put flashband on mine, then rubber mat and overmats.
I'm well pleased with the result.
Make sure if you do the floor that theres not too much bulk to stop the accelerater pedal fully going down.
I played about trying to add the silver insulatoin bubble wrap stuff as well, but the rubber mat wouldn't sit right on top.
Dont foget to do under the seat.
The flashband has certainly reduced road noise, I'm not sure about its thermal qualities but its got to better than just the mat.
