window rubbers been painted any ideas how to get it off

as you can see in the pics of my van the dinlow that painted the van prior to me buying it has painted the window rubbers with red paint,ive tried to get it off but with no luck,ive been thinking of masking up the glass and panels and respraying them black,what do you think??

If they're old seals...its probably got ingrained into the seals...I would go for new ones, but depends on budget

OH used to be a paint sprayer & said that if its rattle can or celuose (sp?) paint then you might be able to get it off with standard thinners but if its 2pack then the only thing you can do is try to carefully scrape it off with a stanley blade.

i think buying new seals would be out of my bugget dont know how much they are but must be over £150 for a set??
was thinking of useing a can of simoize mat black hard wearing paint??

I just had the same problem, i used a stanley knife and scraped it off. It worked a treat.

Side of a stanley blade or simmilar, then get to the goody shop and get a small tin of tyre black paint it on and see how you go

Yep, stanley blade run backwards. Bit labour-intensive in your case but probably the only way to do it. Do a window a weekend if it drives you nuts. We use the same technique on rollered vans where the masking wasn't quite flush enough.
