hi there i'm just about to fit a five speed box in to my camper van which has has the 4 speed box fitted
if anyone can give me any tip and info about this ?
there just one thing which i did think about to day where the gear stick come up in to the cab will i need to drill the hole's in to the floor or are the van's made like a landrover where you can fit anything to them as long as its made by landrover and for that type

as long as you have a non Aircooled van post 83 ish all the mounts/holes are the same for 4/5 speed
turbo diesels use a slightly different gearstick support setup , but you can strip bits to make if fit the non turbo shell.
diesel gearbox mount and rear shift rod are different from the petrol , so you need to have these 2 parts matching
you dont need to drop thefuel tank , front rod comes out the front of the van , spare wheel needs removing. if you have a lower spoiler you may need to remove this also.
i have never had a set way to set the linkage , but slight adjustments make a big differnce.
