Recommendations for somebody to make a simple loom

Post by HarryMann »

This is a diesel powered sepcial buggy style vehicle (1.9 TD)

.. vehicle is roughly in the Bedford/Cambridge area.

Will need starter, 12V for fuel solenoid, lights etc to make it minimally road legal (for an SVA)
If anyone can make a reliable recommendation, either a club member or someone they know of.

Reply here or PM if you prefer

Many thanks

Considered DIYing it?

There's not an awful lot of "cleverness" involved in a loom for something simple. All the bits you'd need are easily available - I've been looking at www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu for bits for DIYing the loom for one of my projects (if it ever gets to that stage...)

DIY it.
Work out your lengths with string.
Get a sheet of plywood and make a loom board with nails and build your loom on it.

I'd do it for you but the distance is a problem.

As above. I've done a few and its quite straightforward. Strip a loom from a scrapper this will provide an assortment of coloured wires. Keep them to the same use and they will be the right gauge etc. I can lend you a book if that's any help.

Thanks everyone, but it's NOT for me. I have a request and that is it... could I help find somebody, homer or trader that would do it.

I agree he is probably quite capable of doing that himself, but is a busy professional engineer...

so, any recommendations, anyone want to have a go and could make a nice job of it?

PS. The vehcile is VERY special and a clue - the loom might well get wet at times

Thanks for taking an interest
