What engine do I have?

Post by Adama1979 »

I need to get myself a Haynes Manual as I have a leaking crank pulley seal and something up with the water cooler on the oil filter (also leaking oil). Trouble is I can't seem to find the relevant Haynes Manual for my van, a 1985 1.6D (non-turbo). Is there a chance this engine is used in a golf of a similar age and I would be better searching for a Golf manual?

Please help as I need to sort this leak out quickly as I'm moving house and am essentially immobile.

Would I put this number in to the Haynes website to see which manual I'd need Kev?

Yep, definately a diesel

Haynes don't do a d****l manual, from memory the 1.6 non-turd is a CS engine.

Yes indeed, thank you very much for the help. And the reminder of the importance of manners.
