I've shook hands on a complete Eber kit: loom, exhaust, controller etc. from a T3 at a very keen price but...the ignitor has failed. Not sure which model until I see it. What am I letting myself in for and is it DIY fixable?
Thanks in advance.

I think once you have the case off, its just a screw out/in affair

Cheers mate, the kit is such a good price and it's been thoroughly diagnosed as an ignitor falure, so I reckon I'll go for it. 35 sovs for a flippin' glowplug though hey ho...

Re: Eber with ignition failure - petrol
I just repaired one of these which was knackered with bits from other helpful 80-90 members! Took it apart and cleaned it all up as well as resoldered a couple of dry looking joints.
I thought it was a dud igniter but turned out to be the actual spark generator unit itself, hidden away inside the box (thanks eddie.eagles again for sending over his one). Replaced that and it fired up first time.
So yes, repairable if you can get the bits!

Now I've had sight of the kit, it's from an Aircooled T3. All the parts are there, all the ducting, loom, dash control with a 411 part number, fan is a 251 part. The heat exchanger is in pretty good condition (a little surface scale at one end) but it's not what I was expecting
I think it'll be going back to the man and then onto the bay of fleas...
