Golf not van sillyness repairs

Well I was going to scrap this golf but its a tdi that goes so bloody well that its worth keeping as a winter hack, its not bad really but a little welding was needed, not much but as little

A little plate goes in

then an hour later

not pretty but it dont need to be, appart from the back box deciding it doesnt want to have anymore fumes going through it, so a quick weld up and its now rejoined and taking all those cheap derv gases again.
Well at least I acheived something in an otherwise dull cold day
