Hi Everybody im back in the fold after about two years going AWOL still have the campervan and still have all the niggly (sorry quirky) T25 problems.
The latest being whilst travelling round France last summer i kept getting a horrible smell like rotten eggs at first i thought it was just a bit of French cheese that had been dropped somewhere but on closer examination it was the liesure battery boiling up. This was just happening on one cell I think so my question is (at last) will it just be the battery that is knackered or is ther something wrong with the split relay?
Many thanks
Boiling Battery

Re: Boiling Battery
As your problem is generic to all batteries I googled it and came up with ..
Overfilling or overcharging
over charging would start with a defective cell
A cell shorts in the battery causing a drop in voltage. The charger (alternator) senses the drop in voltage and begins bulk charging. The bulk charging causes the battery to heat up (as does the shorted cell). As the battery heats, the voltage continues to drop causing the charger to increase charging current... which causes more heat, more heat causes the voltage to drop more, and so on.
meltdown!
so in a nutshell your battery is shagged

Re: Boiling Battery
Boiling battery....happened to me 2 years ago on a day trip to Rutland Water, the leisure battery got so hot that I could barely touch it!
One cell had internally shorted and had melted the split charge relay together at the same time.
New relay and battery fixed it.
