Distributor pinch bolt

Post by morzov »

I'm attempting to adjust the timing on my 2.0 Air cooled T25. Haven't done it before but have established its wrong and I therefore need to move the distributor.

But I can't see any way to get to the nut which clamps the distributor as the vacuum unit seems to get in the way - or am I missing something obvious

Thanks Aidan. I've just realised that the pinch bolt is the long hexagonal one that comes out at right angles. I had been trying to undo the fixing bolt DOH!

Hello,

Before you start playing with the timing,

1. Mark in some way , tippex pen or similar, your timing notch , and also a reference for where your dizzy is NOW.

2. Get a strobe.... if you dont know, you dont need to know....

Cordialement,
