Igloo Max Cold

Post by D&DCAMPA »

Hi all,
Im looking to buy an Iglo maxcold for the summer and wanted to know if anyones knows of any spanking deals on at the moment?! I know some people on here use them and want to know what sort of size would be needed just for the 2 of us - we normally use a normal size electric coolbox as an extra but it doesnt keep the ice frozen and we like to have ice with our voddy!! and does it really keep the ice for upto 5 days??!??
Thanks in advance.

We've got one of those blue, 3 way camping fridges, that can make ice on the ledge inside, it even came with an ice cube tray, only for 6 cubes though, I guess you could put more trays on the ledge.

We have a Coleman Max Cold and this does keep ice frozen for a weekend. It is supposed to keep it frozen for 6 days and to be honest in the UK I think it would. 6 days in 35c weather in France was a different thing! However the box did stay very cold every day over 2 weeks, think we put in a bag of ice every day just to keep it down to temperature.

It is very important with these cool boxes to prepare them properly first before you put in the food and to not let them get warmed up at all.

Regarding size, I think ours is one that would take 76cans of coke in it - sorry not technical there but can't remember the litres!!! This may sound large but we find the box fits nicely in the van. Also as we can cover large amount of miles in France we like to know we can stock up on essentials (ie beer) and not have to worry about stopping again the next day!

Should have also mentioned that ours, when switched on keeps ice blocks frozen, so I guess it would keep premade ice cubes frozen. These need tobe kept right at the back though.
