hya peeps well now that I've jumped into the world of Transporters I thought I'd ask some advice from those that know
as you see he's not in bad nick and has only 33,000 on a recon engine and drives very nicely , what i want to know is what badges are missing from the back?? I bought a VW one off ebay as it was supposedly off a T25 but the pins didn't match!!!
Also what are the blower units for the heater like to fit? as mine doesn't seem to work -have checked fuses and hot air comes out when you get going so not a massive problem but i go kitesurfing so be good to warm the van up to get changed in!!
Thanx in advance - Rob
Before I've finished one job I'm planning the next!
The badge on the left should be 'Volkswagen' and on the right 'Transporter'

essentially the circuit consists of the wiring and fuse (obviously), 4 position switch, speed reduction resistors and the motor itself. IF you have to gain access to the resistors, the motor, their connections or the wiring immediately adjacent to them it's a dash out jobbie I'm afraid
and, much as I don't want to scare you this may prove sobering reading viewtopic.php?f=39&t=77574
Good luck, and you are at least in the right place to ask questions so you're not completely on your own
As has been said above there should be a 'volkswagen' badge on the left and 'transporter' on the right. However early vans used a different badge font style and thus ended up different sizes, with different pin positions. You need the newer ones.
As for the heater/blower check the fan switch first- its very easy to get to- just pull it out then short the highest speed setting contacts and you should hear the motor going if it works!
Dash removal isn't as scary as it sounds, it just takes a while. If it's not been done before you may well need a stud extractor set too.
E D I T: forgot to say thats a very good looking van too!
badge on the right maybe 'caravelle' or 'caravelle c ' - 3 front seats + bulkhead - arm rests on factory seats(7 seats in total ) will make it 'caravelle gl'
