Re: JP EXHAUST
I was one of the group buy and I spent a lot of time at Jp over the next few years getting it repeatedly fixed (Terry sold his van so missed all that fun)
If you want a new exhaust and want S/S then get it from Brickie or his supplier, it'll be a lot better as it's based on the original and you can replace it piece by piece if you need to, just my ho of course

What problems were you having to get fixed Aidan? Forgive if this is a stoopid question, but who is 'Brickie'? – Brickwerks?
If so, do you mean this one:

Re: JP EXHAUST
A few months ago I'd have recommended JP but having seen the interchangeable Brickwerks one and having had to get the lad to weld my JP up at work where the seam had come adrift I would go to Mr Baxter.
One thing he did say was that the pipework was really thick ... and I dare say I could have taken it back to JP but we found the crack on the 4 poster at werk and the tig was just handy

Re: JP EXHAUST
multiple broken support struts, which also broke their welds into the pipes causing holes, poor sealing of slip joints causing air leaks, lack of essential syncro only support bracket only resolved after much dialogue
The service was excellent but I wasted 2 days of my life there, and the last time they refitted it and put it back together they used some sort of silicon as a sealant rather than decent quality exhaust paste and it was leaking again by the time I got home 20 miles away
thing is I run a 2.1 MV which has lambda so any leaks on the exhaust side cause a weak mix signal at lambda so ecu ups the fuelling and bang goes the fuel economy, so whilst JP may be cheaper the cost of wasted fuel more than made up for any savings, back then though there weren't too many options though
The current van has a 22 year old original vw exhaust on it and yes I've replaced parts of it and have to keep repairing it as it's well rusty but it didn't cost me £500 + fitting to start with: when the engine comes out for a head gasket then it will get a new ss exhaust from Simon( Baxter, aka Brickie, aka Brickwerks), and if any more bits need replacing before then they will be from the same source
oh and ask about warranty if running lpg

Re: JP EXHAUST
There is no way I could go to either JP or Brickwerks if there was a problem as I live nowhere near those places. I need something that is reliable and can be fitted by the bloke who does the work on my bus.
