One of mine has disintegrated. So much so that I only had to grind the bolt off the outside mount and it came off as the inner part of the outside mount was non existent!
Is this a case of making one up or can replacement parts be obtained?
Also found a mouse nest!

Re: Rear suspension mounts
if you`re talking about the actual part of the chassis then i think you have to make them. i`ve just made one for riches van not too bad a job. there was a post not so long back discussing it.

Re: Rear suspension mounts
Ive a copy of the panel list, part numbers etc and diagram if you want to pm me your email. There are a few panels that make up the mount. The outer mounts are the "track control arm bracket". I was able to repair mine temporarily but will need to do the whole thing in due course. I think its quite a big job to do it properly (hence my repair for the mo) I seem to remember you can get the panels from VW.

Re: Rear suspension mounts
We have them on order and should arrive a few days into the new year.
They are not that expensive.

Re: Rear suspension mounts
It's a poor do this wasn't picked up at the previous MOT. The metal there is quite thick and the corrosion must have been very bad for some time for it to disintegrate.
As it happens one of the jobs I've done recently was to de-scale and re-paint these on my Kombi, thankfully the rust was just surface scabs, no perforation.

Re: Rear suspension mounts
..so will need a good grind before welding on
Indeed there are!
As Andy says, amazing that MOT'ers now seem to have gone the other way, many now turning a blind eye to obvious heavy chassi corrosion near vital suspension areas
