glow plugs

Post by xl426 »

I have to replace the glow plugs on my 16td crew cab and looking at them its no easy task to reach them, whats the best way or do I have to remove the pump or just the injector pipes?

Thanks
Brian

It can be done with everything in situ - depends upon the size of your tool and hands and manual dexterity. To replace the difficult one it is easier to hang it from the busbar to get it located.
Have you read the article in the Wiki? (where you should have looked first )

Done the glow plugs and never want to do them again some of you guys must be double jointed and have long thin fingers, I had so much trouble getting them out with the bus bar due to brakets under the pump that the bus bar has gone over my shoulder and I have done link wires to each plug which made it much easier to put back. Will also be easier should they have to come out again......
