exhaust bracket
Just got an exhaust bracket from classic parts 025 101 136A. It is fixed to the rear part of the crankcase. Does this mean I have to take out two case fixing bolts or are they longer enabling it to be fitted with another nut? Haven't been able to look yet because its a bit snowy here. Just thought that undoing the case bolts might not be advisable. Cant see any diagram of fixing in bentley. Need to fit rear bracket because the stainless exhaust keeps pulling apart from the strenghening bar at the elbow due to I guess from tension in the structure. Already had it replaced once under warranty from JP which is a pain because all the engine protection has to be removed to fit it.

Re: exhaust bracket
Do you mean this one Ray, that goes on the 17mm engine to gearbox stud?

Needs a fair bit of bending with a large screwdriver to get it over the stud.

Re: exhaust bracket
No, its not that one, its the one that goes beneath the crankcase and then a flat bracket that came with the JP exhaust fits to the cross pipe. I wil try and load a photo. Thanks for the reply.

you are describing the 2wd bracket that bolts to crank case and supports clamp on to exhaust - can't be used with syncro bash bars - JP know that, they have made a syncro version before, like Simon's picture, for mine and I supplied them with the photos for it - often missing from our vans by now, it is a problem for them the exhaust cracks and the support bars they fitted cracked too repeatedly, they never supplied one originally with mine; they are a bit of a t to fit

Re: exhaust bracket
Thanks for that Aiden. My bracket cracked at the back and I was trying to fit a front one as the exhaust elbow support has pulled away again. Have to think something else then. Wonder if they will supply a replacement again!

Re: exhaust bracket
Been on to JP and they are sending me a new bracket that fits to the engine/gearbox stud.
