New product and remanufactured part available

Post by Aidan »

Just had notification from ClassciParts that they now have back in stock freshly remanufactured the 16" plastic centre caps, they're Euro 25 a piece, and if my german is correct that's inc the dreaded

I have had a quick chat with Simon and he's not going to stock them, and I won't be either, but if peeps want them then one or either of us can get them in on an order with our other stock.
It would be good if we ordered in a few to help Classic justify having had them remade, which they did in response to the number of requests they were getting for them so if you want any for your Mefros or mercs then drop me a pm and I'll get a list together and could get them in before xmas

I have a new product in stock which is late difflock actuator bracket (ie the tall one as used on gearboxes after 4th september 1986, not the short one used before that date or used on the front diff) in stainless steel, the non magnetic type, which come complete with the spacer plate that goes between the bracket and the gearbox case and the two M4 bolts which secure the actuator to the bracket together with nylock nuts - I can offer these for less than the cost of a new genuine bracket, £23.50 each including postage; these are made by Stefan Herzberg in Germany, they guy who makes the best decouplers as sold by Syncro-Services.

Bloody expensive caps!

"It would be good if we ordered in a few to help Classic justify having had them remade" - that's giving classic carte blanche to conjure up even more ridiculous prices. Boycott the caps until they drop the price.

If nobody buys their stuff the may just not bother doing t25 stuff any more. That'll be great. NOT.

If that was €25 a set I'd have some like a shot (assuming they fit my 15" mefros) but for €100 (or about £85 of our quaint old pounds) I'll make some out of old pots or summat, in best Blue Peter style.....

personally i think that we 16"-ers are lucky that anyone bothers with specialist parts for somthing that had such a small production run. There are a lot of cars out there with much bigger runs that arent getting any parts re-made.

Put me down for a set Aiden (PM sent)

Also, should i be looking for black plastic nut covers or is that not original?

They are the bits listed as bolt caps on the invoice above. They are used on sciroccos and the like iirc, so hopefully will still be available.

I know it's a bit sad, but the syncro has been my top vehicle for 25 years now, and it makes me very happy.

Some people spend 25 quid getting wasted, and it's not called wasted for nothing
