Because 5 years ago I started a small garage never intending to have a webshop!
The webshop has just kinda evolved and snowballed.
It's only 18 months ago I used to hand write reciepts!
We have about 900 or so things on the webshop, we use them in the workshop, people come by and buy parts, then we sell online.
Our invoicing software at the workshop is not tied into the webshop, so if I use something on a customers van then that could scupper someone buying something online.
You know what it's like now, you buy something on the internet you want it ASAP and because our stock control system (Michael) can't judge flurries of activity (usually revolving around a thread on a forum) then we often run out.
I don't like taking money from people for things that we don't have, it does happen every now and again, we stock a reasonably amount of parts to cover seasonal fluctuations, for workshop use etc but sometimes we get caught out and we sell something we don't have, then there are delays, then people ring up moaning then it all gets messy, they get upset, we look like tw@s
So, until we finish off the webshop and finally link it up with our invoicing system so we can run stock control locally and on the webshop that's how things are I'm affraid.
I'm not willing to publish loads of parts we don't have as I don't think it right.
Yes, we can put on there that they are out of stock but a lot of the time we get told one thing by a wholesaler and what actually happens is quite another, we can mark them up as on order, we can do that now but the pain in the ring for us is remembering what is marked up as on order, out of stock or whatever and going back in and changing it when the parts arrive.

Basically it's easier for us to check whats published/unpublished than it is for us to check what's marked as on order etc.

I can sort out parking just around the corner from Len's garage if you need it. You should be OK, when he gets full up he usually calls me for parking.

Saw your syncro at his garage....liking the interior a lot... Also like a looky inside the pop up roof if your OK with that? Looking to fit an elevating side roof to my syncro..did it on my 2wd but yours looks like a different type. Did it come factory with your van? really like the size of it..

Did the springs he was going to fit end up a tad short? Can anyone clarify if the Syncro caravelle came with the same springs as the Syncro multivans?

VW syncro springs are the same on all vehicle variants only the dampers vary, standard, HD and 16"

Yep I know the problem, business growing and not sure how to run it. It's a good problem to have though, better than than no sales etc etc. Top marks to Michael, replied with great comments and support on some rear springs recently. Keep going, keep smiling!

You could have a look under the roof but I'm afraid you won't find anything! It's a work in progress so just the fibre glass top fitted at the mo. Don't seem to have any time at the mo. It's a Viking roof that I'm refurbing, still got to do the cutting!
Yes the springs are shorter than the ones that were on the van, is it possible that I had longer springs fitted than standard? Anyone have a measurement for the standard springs end to end. I always regret ordering from jk. Is it possible the springs are confused with 2 wd ones, I thought the Syncro rears were different to 2 wd.
Still holding out for badgers bits but only got next week.
Thanks all, it's great to know there is help out there
Always appreciated !

what colour paint marks were on the old/new springs ?
syncro rears are 2 green, fronts are 2 violet
JK for internal silverscreens, everything else is generally better and more likely to be correct elsewhere
they say they don't do syncro when you ask, they had a few bits and bobs of old stock, but Mark Reynolds has sold his 16" doka I think so there won't be any interest there now

New springs are marked with blue not green. They were listed as Syncro rears. The van can stay there all week but needs to be done by Friday. I can hold out to see if they turn up at BW till midweek but failing that can anyone recommend a good supply, 1 front outer cv and 2 rear green springs!!

Old springs marked green. Len at the garage says lower than the previous springs and new ones marked blue! JK say they must be correct but will take a return. BW have none in stock and none coming soon. Anyone shed light on blue spring.
Just wanna drive it again

All sorted enroute from the very helpful Dina at Syncro services. All in all the price worked out pretty similar and I'll have em in 3/4 days. Was a bit wary before but no springs in uk atall by the looks of it !!
Happy to get it sorted
Alles gut !!

My '95 SA had 1 x blue rear springs (changed because of broken tails) so that ^^^explains that then. I fitted some used factory -30 H/D ones (2 x yellow + green from memory) and the ride height was...completely unchanged!
