Re: Im Steaming.........
sounds like your coolant had frozen! You need to fill it with 50/50 mix of coolant and water that will not freeze till -32 ish degrees

Re: Im Steaming.........
yes that's the place for tstat
if you fill in your location in your profile then you can benefit from local help/offers
there's a good used 1.9 wbx pump on my shelf I think, I'd have to check
but they are readily available new from many sources, I'd always use Brickwerks if possible as quality will be the best available generally
sounds like whoever had your van sold it on rather than fix it properly, seen too much of that especially as the "value" of these vans has risen, have to wonder about the morals of some peeps, but then I guess they take their lead from the media and news as to what is acceptable in this day and age, oh don't get me started

Re: Im Steaming.........
I know why the last owner has just decided to put gasket sealant round T/Stat housing (cos once the Thermo is put in the housing top wont go over it properly so it sits flush with the bottom half, theres a half inch gap all round Grr) is there supposed to be a additional rubber seal (besides the o ring) that takes up this gap prior to securng with the bolts?

i think we are going to need some pictures soon!
as far as i can remember with mine, the stat sits in its housing and the two halves bolt together. Rubber o ring seals round stat.
Have you got the right stat and housing??

Hi Em
i have contacted GSF where i got stat and im having to take it back just incase it is the wrong one in the box.... the stat housing all i can say is that it looks exactly the same as the diagrams in Justkampers website, however they dont appear to sell replacements so i havent been able to have a proper look.
Regards

Another brick wall ......
Thermostat returned, il post pics up of housing real soon if anyone has a idea or two that would be great. Has anyone ordered a replacement thermostat from a company that they can verify as being a correct replacement part? GSF only list the one for the T25 1.9 which should have been correct.

According to 'Brickwerks' the thermostat for the 2.1 and 1.9 are identical, see here http://www.brickwerks.co.uk/shop?page=s ... ory_id=118Novice in need wrote:Another brick wall ......

Unless perhaps someone has shoved a housing on that's not an original part. Brickwerks do a housing too which is for the 2.1 but can be adapted with "minor modification". http://www.brickwerks.co.uk/shop?page=s ... ory_id=118
You'd probably have to get a new cover then too though......

Re: Im Steaming.........
as Kirsty would say
location, location, location
tsat fits both ways round but only one is correct, the stat goes in first then the o ring then the black top bolts down compressing the o ring and sealing it, stats are the same early and late and for both wbx engine varieties.
Sorry I din't check for the used pump but pretty certain there is one there will be in the workshop in the morning give me a bell or text me to remind me if you still need it
