buy another syncro?

Post by m3nutter »

hello all, im not the most active user of the board i know but i do visit to see whats happening in the syncro world - i have an 88 panel t25 syncro RHD 14incher with front and rear diff locks which i have had now for about 16 years ! in that time ive re built the heads - front suspension - gearbox and use it regularly.

thing is, while its good and straight and no rot to talk of, i wouldnt mind another - one a bit better cosmetically and perhaps a bit newer. anyone know of any good machines at the mo? i do like the van body or doka?

Why not invest in the one you have and give it a freshen up... It will be cheaper in the long run..
Having owned it 16 years, it owes you nothing now really..

I agree with Simon on this .... if the body is good and its an untouched van without windows then spend the money now on doing her up while parts are readily available. Get the transmission done by Aidan and refurb everything else. Vans are rare now and will be worth a good bit in the future. You would spend £4k to £5k on another Syncro and spend that again getting it to A1 condition so why not spend it on the van you have.

looks like another yorkshire water board van, like al and glen's van, going by the vent in the rear quarter, and it being rhd. do you know much of its history. un-cut vans like yours are only gonna get harder to come by.

Neil - it was white top and blue bottom and full of aerials - i believe it was a phillips electronics - its got holes in the dash to where the radio was!

its also had a driver with a big right foot judging by the state of the crown wheel when we took it out
