wondering if i've a new VC already? update

Post by lloydy »

Looking through some of the german history of the van, found a very hefty bill of some 7,000DM. One of the many things listed is a part called kupplung. Which translates to coupling and cost 392DM in 2001.
Now it could be wishful thinking but it's right below hydraulic oil...... So could i have a new one?

A bill for 7kDM??? that's would have been a solid 2- 2.5k back then.
Das Kupplung usually the clutch, but they might mean Viscokupplung in which case but it was only about £140...
Got that turbo on yet? It's nearly lunchtime

New it was wishfull thinking
On a slightly better note, turbo is on. Been out in the snow, VC doesn't work , gearbox seems good, then.............Steering got very heavy. Power steering fluid was low, topped up and it dissapeared straight away and came out by the rear wheel. Found it coming from pipes that sit right on a bit of chassis by the rear wheel. Seems to be a right old mud trap. Pulled loads of mud and crud away. Anyway, took the belt off and carried on. Drives lovely.
At least the expensive stuff works. One day i'll fix that power steering.
People were also asking my gearbox code it is AVU, which seems to be the lowest geared one on the list

The power steering is easy to fix. Exactly the same happened to me just before Syncro25 and I fitted a set of aftermarket hydraulic pipes from Syncro Services. Took about 2 hours all in. The Baxter chap sell them now.
