Which Bosch fuel pump do I need for a 1999 Subaru EJ 25 SOHC?
I currently have the blue RJES unit fitted but it's too noisy and hums louder than the engine when at tick over. I have tried mounting on rubber / left it hanging in mid air with foam wrapped around but all to no avail. The pump is not cavitating and the tank is clean.

Re: Noisy Fuel Pump
I have the same issue, and recently got a bosch unit (think 009) off a specialist performance pump supplier along with a new filter. Problem is, still noisy! The conclusion being that its noise thats normally closer to the engine and not just behind you. I have run the same route as you, foam, rubber, free hanging and I am about to strip it back again to try a new set up using exhaust mounts. Just don't expect a massive reduction in noise by just switching the pump. The ultimate solution (cost no object) is a small pump fitted further back next to the engine lifting the fuel to a swill tank next to the engine with another pump for the final feed, £250+ though!

I have had the same problem. Richard has sorted it as he does. Excellent customer service. Talk to him.

Just realised I left this open. The solution is to ditch the blue unit and fit a Bosch unit, they look identical apart from the colour but the Bosch unit is super quiet, so quiet that you can hardly hear it running.

Re: Noisy Fuel Pump
Hi,
The solution that worked for me is to fit a later fuel tank normally used in fuel injected models, it has a larger bore out pipe. I then used a bosch pump, with mount and competition filter from the guys at Glencoe http://www.glencoeltd.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
works great, no more noise.
